Dogs enhance our lives and grab our hearts like nothing else.








There is no other group of dogs more abused and misunderstood than America's dogs.  Often referred to as "pit bulls" America's dogs include the American Pitbull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. There is no other group of dogs more in need of our compassion, in need of our call to arms on their behalf, and in need of what should be the full force of our enduring sanctuary.  Some have determined that these dogs do not deserve to live.  Some attack our beloved dogs publicly and others hide their true intentions by shifting the blame.  They claim that these dogs are unadoptable, not trustworthy, and only bred to fight or guard drugs.  They try to convince others that it is in the best interest of both the public, and the dogs, that only bans and restrictions will keep them out of harm's way.  The end result is the same.  By actions, words, policies, failure to speak out for the dogs, you too stoke the fire that has at it's core only one end for our beloved dogs: their mass killing.  For America's dogs who have been abused by dogfighters, victimized by an undeserved mythical reputation, assigned a certain death at shelters, add one more final torment: those who should be their most staunch protectors have instead turned their backs.  Have you as well joined the witch hunt? 




The media is relentless in it's portrayal of pit bulls as killers.  When I look upon my beloved dog I see my heart and soul, my beloved companion.  I hope that you will educate yourself so that you too can see the true nature of our faithful friends.





House Bill 55 has passed through the Ohio House of Representatives and has moved on to the Ohio Senate.  House Bill 79 was added to HB55 prior to the House vote.  Please write to your Ohio Senator and ask that they support this bill's immediate passage.  HB55 would allow companion animals to be added to domestic violence protection orders, mandate counseling for juvenile animal abusers, and require vicious dogs be defined by behavior and not breed.  For more information go to http://www.ohiocoalitionofdogadvocates.com                                         

We the responsible owners of America's dogs will no longer sit idly by and watch a few reckless owners destroy the reputation of our beloved dogs.  This website is dedicated to the dogs of Toledo.  Our goal is to replace the costly and ineffective Toledo "pit bull" ordinance with a breed neutral dangerous dog ordinance that will improve public safety and respect the rights of responsible dog owners of all breeds.
